It’s here. Episode 004 of the Jeff Caylor Podcast. A bit about my next live gig: I’m opening for Dan Beahm at The Laughing Goat in Boulder on Thursday at 8pm. TLG is on the corner of Pearl and 17th. Also, I’ve included a brief excerpt of the forthcoming “Almost Flew” claymation video. Click the “more” link below for the complete lyrics to “Reggie’s in the Window Again,” the live song in this week’s podcast.

Reggie’s in the window again
Making threats in vain
All the squirrels outside just seem to laugh at him
Sooner or later he’ll try
Breaking through this screen
But for now this barrier just baffles him
You might think he’d tire of waiting
For everything to change
But every afternoon it’s still the same
Maybe he’s just looking for the stars
That’ll never align
Reggie’s in the window again
And so am I
Reggie’s in the window again
Where it’s safe to dream
He just closes his eyes and then he’s back to good
Maybe he’s thinking of how
His claws would cut this screen
And he’d finally get that last last laugh if he could
You might think he’d tire of waiting
For everything to change
But every afternoon it’s still the same
Maybe he’s just looking for the stars
That’ll never align
Reggie’s in the window again
And so am I
There’s a black cat who comes around
Reminds of him of what he’s not
I wish could talk to him
And remind him of what he’s got
I’d remind him of what he’s got
Reggie’s in the window again
The breeze is coming through
You can hear the cars down on I-25
The sun is dipping into the hills
As the sky leaks blue
I guess this is what it’s like to be alive
I think this is what it’s like to be alive

Jeff,
First, the song is awesome! Sarah and I played it for our cat and he thought so too, really. He looked over from the window once or twice…
Second, I am loving the video so far, so keep it up!

The video is looking GOOD, man. I love it.
I was thinking the name for the bird should be Daniel… and the reason wasn’t intended to be focused on me, but more your love of certain Over-sized glasses wearing performers from the 70’s. So that said (”Daniel” being too narcissistic a suggestion), I’m pulling for “Elton” as the bird’s name.
And he really does look like an Elton.
