Behind the Scenes Today

It’s late Tuesday night and I’m busy obtaining ISRC codes, finding a mastering engineer and updating my marketing database.

Things are sounding great. In fact, it’s exceeding my expectations, to be honest. I know it’s kind of rude to always talk about yourself, so I feel like a complete clod lately. I can’t stop telling my friends how great this album is going to be. The mix engineer, Trevor Michael, is working some magic and I don’t mind giving him lots of credit.

All the artwork is completed as well. It. looks. amazing. I can say that because I didn’t do it myself. Once again, Luke Flowers has done some amazing work! I have decided to not go public with the look for a few more weeks as I’m preparing the new web site launch.

I should take a second and thank the many folks who have help record instruments, including Trevor. Leora Gardner makes another appearance on violin and some fantastic vocals this time around, too. Don McCaleb and Jon Collins are on bass and drums. Guitars are covered by a few people, including a couple new friends in Hong Kong: Tim LaTour and Daniel Son (no relation to the Karate Kid). Engineering and studio help comes courtesy Randy Ruebsamen and Jon Lee. All these folks are in the CD notes but I am feeling especially grateful tonight. One song is also produced by Gavin Harrison, who did the production for “Perspective” on Okay. You’ll read more about Gavin in another post soon.

If you’re reading this, I’m going to be asking for your help, too. Stay tuned…
