Michael Jackson Night at Grappa’s Cellar

RTHK Radio 3 and Grappa’s present an evening of MJ music in the style of 6 different local Hong Kong bands and artists. The show will be recorded and an edited version will play on RTHK Radio 3 on June 20th.

We’ll be at the Fringe Club again on May 2nd. It’s one of the best spots for live music in Hong Kong, so be sure to come down and check it out. We’ll get going around 11:30pm. I’ll have the full band (Jon Lee on drums, Tim LaTour on Guitar, Daniel Son on Bass).

Live at the Wanch

It’s not pronounced like “ranch” or “conch.” It’s “Wanch.” Like launch.

I’m playing there tonight all by myself.

Come back to this page around 11pm HK time / 10am ET on Thursday. The plan is to stream a few of the songs here. I’m experimenting with Qik.com, which lets you stream video and audio from your phone. So in other words, don’t get your hopes up.

Shows and More Shows

It’s shaping up to be a pretty busy season, musically. I did a show on the 6th with the band and we managed a pretty favorable review out of it. Great turn out and just a really fun night all the way around. Thanks for coming out and supporting us at The Melting Pot (Underground Style), Hong Kong! Here’s an excerpt of the review from konghongrock.blogspot.com:

… As soon as these guys stepped into The Melting Pot, they oozed confidence and as we would eventually learn, this was not at all misplaced. Jeff Caylor’s band consists of himself as the lead singer and pianist, an acoustic guitarist who helps out with the harmonies, a bassist and a drummer. After a quick set up and introduction from Chris B, Caylor counted in the band to their 6 song attention grabbing set… It’s also good music. It gets the feet tapping before the head realises it, and usually the songs themselves are tales of interesting events or emotions.

I’m opening for some very talented ladies from down under next Friday, December 19th at a show in Quarry Bay at the Island ECC Gallery (633 King’s Road, 2/F). I’ll do about 3 or 4 songs solo at about 8pm, and then enjoy the rest of the night listening to them. Their names are Deb Fung and Alarice. Check them out.

I’ll be taking a short holiday to Sydney and then back to Hong Kong for a couple more dates in January. See the gigs page for all the details. I’m going to try to do another live web cast on January 15th. That will be a solo set, as well.

Mixing it up at the Melting Pot

The Jeff Caylor Band is playing this Saturday night at the Melting Pot. For you Hong Kong locals, the tickets are $100 at the door. $80 for students. Come support local live music in Hong Kong!
